How to use custom RingBack?

Postby skylux » Sun Jan 13, 2019 7:08 am

Hi,

I would like to hear a simple ding-dong (or nothing) when the button is pressed instead of the standard RingBack Tone. Therefore I tried to upload a custom RingBack file (see attachment). However so far the R26C is still playing the standard tone like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1TR110-1_Kap8.3_Freiton1.ogg.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
best regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Do you try to upload the audio file from the path "Phone-Voice-RingBack Upload" ? I tested, the audio will be replaced when the push button is pressed.

Thanks

Hi Neil,

thank you for your reply. This is exactly the path I use. The unit says "processing please wait" and after a moment "file upload success". I tried an additional "submit", and a reboot - but nothing changes. When I press the push button the RingBack Tone is still the same. Maybe it depends on the file? Did you try mine? Or does it depend on the SIP server? I use an AVM Fritz!Box.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Which firmware of R26 do you use?
Maybe you can upgrade the firmware to newest version 26.31.3.225 and then test - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=207

Thanks

Hi Neil,

I tried with 26.0.3.102, 26.31.3.225 and 26.31.3.228. Each time with factory reset, clean setup of SIP Account, outgoing number and upload of my ding-dong.wav. The device behaves just the same regardless which firmware I use: I press the button and hear the standard ringback tone until the called number answers the call. Maybe it somehow is depending on region settings? Because the sound I hear is typical for my region and I think there are some other ringback standard sounds out there in the world... Perhaps the custom sound only works in your region?

Best regards,
Sebastian

I have same issue, tried to upload custom wav file, parameters are as required, but ringback remain the same. looks like this question was not answered from beginning of the year. Is that hard to fix this issue? On the old firmware from Logenex use to work.

BTW, I've downgraded to Logenex firmware (bought from Norelco) v.26.31.5.8, Model TP700 in reality is R26P,
and ring back is a ding-dong type now, but lost all latest features.

The file you sent still had 32bit even if the webinterface tells you, to only use 16bit, also it was stereo, what makes it unnecessary big.
Try the attached one, i've corrected all there.
