Purpose of RS485

Postby thowa » Tue Aug 21, 2018 5:59 am

Hi,

can you tell me, what is the purpose of RS485 lines?
Neither the manual nor the quick guide tell anythingabout its usage.

Many thanks, Thorsten

Hi Thorsten,

For more detail description, you can find it in our admin guide.

RS485 terminal for automation system control(e.g. Elevator control).
You can find the API on the backcover of doorphone.

Dear support-team,

I want to integrate the doorstation in my home automation (You listed that as a feature).
Can You provide complete functionlist or protocoll for use with RS485 (or API). In the admin guide the terminal-descreption is the only note of RS485. Without further information we can't use this feature.
I think, if You can give some more information, many customers will be interested in integration of smart home.

With best regards
Fabian

Hi Fabian,

Glad to receive your advice!
Can I know where do you purchase our product?
We do not open the RS485 protocol for end users' developing now. But we will consider about it.

Thanks

Hello,
there is a security-risk of connecting the door-open signal direct at the outdoor station. You can activate the door-opener much easier than opens the doorlock. And all with nearly no traces.
For this reasons and to connect the station to my home automation system, I'm searching on a possibility to get data from rfid-unit for instance to decide internal if access is granted.
In the product info You wrote about the integration in home automation or connect other RS458 devices. I'm looking for the all possibilities.

Thank You
Fabian

Oh, forgotten, You want to know who is the merchant:
I want to buy the product via shops in germany, but not before I can clarify all questions.

Thank You for Your help!

Hi sir,

For RS485 integration. You are right, we can do that, but we need the exact protocol to develop for the compatibility.

And actually, we only accept the requirements from our distributors. So you need to contact with whom you purchased our products from first.

Also, we have indoor monitors running Android, so that is another way to get integrated with the 3rd party home automation system.

Please let me know if any further question.

Best Regards.
